One of the most important subjects in studies here at the monastery is Buddhist dialectics and debate sessions are held twice daily. Monsoon has gotten more irregular and many times brings obstructions to hold these debate sessions outside as is tradition. Therefore, the need and idea rose a few years ago to make such a shelter and this year, just at the beginning of this year’s monsoon, we were able to complete with this special roof made by specialists.
It was inaugurated by our most senior monk, Kushog Thupten Sherap, on the very day of the Buddha’s Turning the first Wheel of Dharma and later during the ceremony, a debate was performed for a sign of auspiciousness on the subject of the Four Noble Truths and the Three Turnings of the Wheel of Dharma by the Buddha.
